1. Authorization

1.1 Client is engaging Barb Rowan Design (BRD) for the specific project of security updates for the website named in the Estimate/Invoice.

1.2 The Client will establish a separate contract with an ISP or Web hosting provider. The Client authorizes BRD to access this account and be given “write permission” for the Client’s website directory, cgi-bin directory, or any other directory needed to complete this project.

1.3 Client will observe the Working agreement of BRD.

1.4 Maintenance agreements are available as a 12-month service, and billed once per year. A notification of start/end date is sent at least one month prior to expiration.

2. Maintenance and Changes

2.1 BRD will provide security updates to WordPress and individual site theme and plug-ins for the period of time specified. No other parties have the right to change the website security functions during the maintenance period. If the Client or an agent of the Client other than BRD attempts updating the site, and repair is needed, any time spent on the repair will be charged at the hourly rate of $100 and is not included in this agreement.

2.2 Compensation: Emails are included in this agreement to report and inform. Phone calls and/or in-person meetings are not included in this agreement and will be charged at the hourly rate of $100.

2.3 In the event the Client fails to make a payment within BRD’s Basic Terms and Conditions, BRD has the right to 1) terminate the agreement 2) immediately stop all works-in-progress 3) take legal steps to collect.

3. Scope of Service

3.1 WordPress: Update and maintain installation, theme and plug-ins. Install and configure new security plug-ins as needed and following best practices within the website security community.

3.2 Back-ups: Site back-ups occur once-per-week to Amazon Web Services (AWS).

3.3 EXCLUSIONS: BRD will not provide disaster recovery from back-up and maintain current file library of all assets, graphics, source code and revision history for Client’s website. BRD will not liaise with billing and/or accounting of your hosting and domain service; be responsible for errors and omissions contained in website content; install matches, fixes, updates to server or operating system, or install additional software packages to the operating system or server.

4. Accreditation/Promotions

Any revisions, additions, or redesign Client wishes BRD to perform which is not specified in this agreement is considered “additional” and will be included in another agreement and payment. BRD will inform Client on requested work that falls in this category.

5. Cancellation

This web security maintenance plan may be cancelled at any time, given a 30-day written notice provided that payment is up to date. A pro-rata refund will be given for any unused period of the advance payment.

6. Troubleshooting

In the event of a fault with your web hosting service or server, BRD will initiate an inquiry into the service disruption within 24 working hours and will work with the hosting company on the Client’s behalf (if given the authorization for compensation) to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
